In 2019, our journey as Holmlia Cricket Klubb came to an abrupt halt.
It was a difficult moment β one that tested not just our club, but the character of everyone involved.
Today, we stand here again. Reopened. Rebuilt. Wiser.
What matters most is this: the players stayed together.
Through uncertainty, silence, and setbacks, the core of this team never walked away from the game or from each other. That unity is something no ban could ever take from us.
We are not here to deny the past. We learned from our mistakes, reflected deeply, and accepted responsibility where it was due. Growth only comes when youβre honest with clear eyes β and thatβs exactly what this period forced us to do.
Like any storm, this one revealed a lot.
Some were ready to jump ship the moment things became difficult. And we also learned that sometimes the greatest damage doesnβt come from outside pressure β but from within, when trust is quietly broken and holes are drilled from the inside. We say this not with anger, but with clarity.
At the same time, we will always remember the support we received from fellow cricket teams and individuals across Norway. Your messages, encouragement, and belief reminded us why this sport and its community matter so much. For that, we are deeply grateful.
There is, however, a quiet regret that lingers β that while a club paid the ultimate price, the same individual actions that harmed us were never fully addressed, and the game moved on without accountability. We leave that to history and conscience.
Today is not about bitterness.
Itβs about resilience, lessons learned, and starting again β the right way.
Holmlia Cricket Klubb is back.
Not perfect. But stronger. More united. And ready to write a better chapter.
