On Monday, IndoNord proudly celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India across multiple cities in Norway โ Asker, ร
s, Bergen, Stavanger, and Trondheim. Despite it being a weekday and temperatures dropping to -15ยฐC, our community members gathered with great enthusiasm to show their patriotism and unity.
The celebrations began with a virtual address from our Honourable Ambassador, Mrs. Gloria Gangte, who shared an inspiring message with the Indian diaspora. Following the speech, the audience enjoyed a series of cultural performances, adding colour, energy, and joy to the celebrations.
For the past few years, IndoNord has used this special occasion to highlight one Indian state through cultural presentations, videos, speeches, food, and stalls. This year, we had the wonderful opportunity to showcase Uttar Pradesh, Indiaโs largest state.
Uttar Pradesh is home to some of Indiaโs most sacred cities, including Varanasi, Mathura, and Ayodhya, and is renowned for its rich artistic heritage. Traditional crafts such as Chikankari (delicate hand embroidery), Zari work, and the famous Banarasi silk sarees beautifully reflect the stateโs cultural richness.
The celebration was made even more special with a taste of Uttar Pradeshโs iconic cuisine, including Awadhi biryani, Aloo Tikki, and Chaat, which were enjoyed by everyone.
A heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers and community members who made this celebration memorable across all locations
